life [Dec. 3rd, 2009|01:52 pm]

I have decided that I WILL make it through graduate school. I will dammit. I may even pass neuro...no, I WILL. probably by the skin of my teeth... or the pia layer of my meninges. I will conquer the visual system, even though I don't like it. I will knit my way through class, and therefore be able to actually pay attention. too bad she goes so fast in phonology that I can't even get through a row.

I am perpetually tired and have no immune system. I will pump my body full of vitamin C and tea. I will sleep and revel in my yoga.

i think the whole world should do yoga

i will make time to go the library and read books before bed. and bake wonderful things for my class mates. and not worry about money, since I am already super good at being poor. I will send out xmas cards to make others smile

I will survive

at one point in during the 2 years of gradschool, i may have spare time. in this time, i promise to write here. i truly do. until then, see snippets of life on facebook. love you all, i may actually manage some time on here during the Autism Class that I could be teaching. such is life.

so dont write me off, i am alive, just buried neck deep in paperwork and reading.

at some point i may actually get to sit still long enough to express the happiness that is babysitting for a fab 7yr old boy. Kid is adorable. we've been doing a lot of art projects and reading. but i am too tired to detail, maybe tomorrow, after an obscene amount of sleeping.

so far this month:

Fallen Skies –Phillipa Gregory

Exile’s Valor – Mercedes Lackey

HP and the Deathly Hallows – JK Rowling

Takes a Thief – Mercedes Lackey

Walk Two Moons – Susan Creech

The Lucky One – Nicholas Sparks

sometimes i love having an autistic brother
i went with him and mom to UCONN, since andrew is being part of a psych study..he gets paid for it, therefore allowing him to put video games. On a side note, the kid owes me $10 for the Sims game. aaanyway, they give give different tasks with him, and record it. computer games, social interactions, etc. They tape him so they can transcripe his responses. so they were taping his ability to kinda "pretend" with other people. he had two barbie-ish people. and were making them converse in french, his new obsession. EVERYTHING is french. oy vey. So then the psych person gets a doll and asks "can my person play with yours?" cause thats the whole point.

and andrew looks at her and says "well, you can try, but mine will be speaking french, and therefore ignoring yours"

i almost peed myself, watching it on the monitor. God i love that boy.

went to mall today with younger (albiet taller) male sibling. good times, he can be so entertaining. We sang disney songs off my ipod. the boy wanted the Sims game (remember that?!), but then he found out he needed a mega memory card to play it..so guess who forked over $10. the plan was for me to buy a purse, but that kinda put a damper on my mula. I will be super rich at 12:01am when my direct deposit kicks in, but now i have $8 to my name. BUT i found an awesome messanger back for ..drum roll...$5! super excited. was in major need of new purse. MAJOR.

nice to be visiting home. we made home-made pizza tonight. found a really sweeet GF pizza mix, Red Mill Brand (try it meg) and Dad and I enjoyed mushroom pizza of fabulousness. Off to read Mercedes Lackey AGAIN. yay comfort books.

i am actually sitting at my computer for longer than 2 minutes! be amazed!
only good side of not having  computer time is that they have been giving me very decent hours at work, which where very sorely needed. I am actually beginning to like it there. The people are much more relaxed and enjoyable to work with. of course not ALL of them, but most. They have actually been running me a little ragged. but MONEY!

on an even happier note, i got a babysitting job! great little boy with aspergers, so I will be spending 3 days a week with him for august, and hopefully continuing into the school year. It is a two-mom family, which is a new one for me, but I think I may even like it better. both woman are very nice, and one is a Librarian! so really, what more could i ask for, right? A good job, close to home, doing what I do best. hanging out with a kid. I may even get my pepere to take us fishing on his boat. I start on Monday :)

sweet, they are finally giving me real hours at work. almost 30 compared to 10. I would prefer 40..or more. But I can deal with this.

on the downside, we have had a HUGE infestation of grain moths, which really are the worse thing god ever put on this planet. They eat right through paper and cardboard into your cereal, flour, pasta, etc. So we pretty much had to throw out most of our food, and super clean/raid the pantry. Moths are one thing, but when the LARVE start to crawl on your CEILING..its a bit much. one of my roomies refused to even enter the kitchen (i think this was a bit drastic, but whatev) so i know they arent really gone, and we probably need an exterminator, but it seems to be better, They also set traps for the mice, and the SQUIRREL (yes, squirrel) living in our walls. we hear random scratching noises sometimes..creepy when u are home alone at night. otherwise, our house is fab.

lots to do tomorrow, many -ologists to call, and a library to visit
and a car to clean..but i am not very motivated, so lets see, shall we?
